Minnesota Vikings

 

The Minnesota Vikings are a professional American football team that plays in the National Football Conference (NFC) North division of the National Football League (NFL). The team is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and plays their home games at U.S. Bank Stadium. 

History:

The Vikings were founded in 1960 as an expansion team and began playing in 1961 

The team's name is a reference to the Vikings of medieval Scandinavia, which reflects Minnesota's Scandinavian American culture 

The Vikings have appeared in four Super Bowls (1970, 1974, 1975, and 1977), but lost each time 

Practice facility: 

The Vikings' practice facility is located at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan, Minnesota

The facility has five practice fields, including an indoor field, so players can practice year-round

Mascot: 

The Vikings' mascot is Viktor the Viking
